Lawyers are to sue the Dutch government for damages and compensation on behalf of nearly 8,000 surviving relatives of Bosnian Muslims killed by Serbian forces in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre.
Van Diepen Van der Kroef, a Dutch practice, has spent two years preparing the claim, which holds the government and the UN responsible for failing to protect as many as 10,000 Muslims in what was a UN enclave policed by Dutch troops. The size of the claim has not been disclosed. Ian Bickerton, Amsterdam
