Mediation
Mediation means that parties voluntarily try to find their own solution to a dispute, under the supervision of an independent mediator. Van Diepen Van der Kroef has experienced mediators who are registered at the Netherlands Mediation Institute. They mediate in all types of conflicts, between business partners, employers and employees, and also in conflicts within trade or professional associations or in the world of sport. One of our mediators is specialised in international mediation. The aim of mediation is to prevent litigation and to strive to create a win-win situation for all involved parties. This is clearly a particular bonus for parties who wish to continue their relationship. In mediation, parties determine the final outcome themselves. Furthermore, mediation is cheaper and faster than litigation and parties do not run the risk of being ordered to pay the costs of the legal proceedings. Another great advantage of mediation is its privacy. Unlike in a judicial procedure, confidential information is not exposed to public scrutiny.
The lawyers of the Mediation practice group:
- are experienced mediators
- are registered mediators
- draft mediation agreements
- supervise the successful outcome of mediation
- legally support the individual parties in a mediation procedure
- focus on de-escalating disputes and focus on devising solution-oriented approaches
