Axel Hagedorn (1954) obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Göttingen in Germany in 1986. Following the start of his academic career, Dr. Hagedorn worked at the Hamburg State Supreme Court and was a partner at a Hamburg Law Firm. In 1994 he emigrated to the Netherlands where he has been in charge of the international department of Van Diepen Van der Kroef Advocaten since 1997. The international department consists of a German, French, Russian, Japanese and Chinese Desk.
His main field of work is mergers and acquisitions. He has been registered as a Dutch lawyer since 2001.
Dr. Hagedorn also acts as an (international) mediator and arbitrator for the German-Dutch Chamber of Commerce among others. He is also President of the German-Dutch Lawyers Association (250 members).
