Press release June 10, 2008: Srebrenica Hearing on 18 June 2008 10 a.m. District Court at The Hague
On 4 June 2007, we filed the lawsuit against the Dutch State and the United Nations on behalf of approximately 6,000 relatives of the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica 1995 (Mothers of Srebrenica), in which about 10,000 people were massacred. The trial is aimed at gaining recognition and satisfaction for the surviving relatives of this tragedy.
On 18 June 2008 at 10 a.m. the first hearing in this case will be held at the District Court at The Hague (address: Prins Clauslaan 60).
The District Court has announced that due to the expected interest of the international media, simultaneous interpreters (English and Bosnian) will be present. Furthermore the Court will make an extra room available from where the hearing can be followed on video.
The District Court furthermore notifies that all media who want to attend the hearing can register until 11 June 2008 at 5 p.m., however only by mail (voorlichting.rb.den.haag@rechtspraak.nl).
