Kamiel Koelman

Mr. Kamiel J. Koelman is an acclaimed expert in the field of intellectual property (IP) law, like copyright, design, trademark, database and software protection, etc. Additionally, he is a specialist in the areas of media, privacy and IT law, and all legal matters and issues concerning software, computers and the internet.
Before he decided to start practicing law, Mr. Koelman had a career of ten years as an academic. He worked with the Institute for Information Law (IViR) of the University of Amsterdam (UvA), where he defended his doctorate thesis on digital rights management systems and the economics of copyright law. Subsequently, het was an associate professor with the Computer/Law Institute of the Free University (VU), also in Amsterdam.
Mr. Koelman published numerous articles, comments, reports and studies. As a scholar, his main focus is on the IP related problems of the digital environment.
